Lyrics by John Hall
Music by Roger Bourland
Before the Storm
Moving…
Chasing after something/someone
Losing mind until I can find the answer.
Racing in the present tense/offensive.
I don’t know the question.
It’s not an easy task when you forget to ask. Keep
Moving…
Don’t think of control ‘cause you’re on a roll.
You suffer no loss and double no cross.
You gather no moss, the stone keeps rolling
And unaware we don’t have to care.
Climbing up the ladder (corporate)
Missing what’s the matter (fortunate).
Give it a rest, just do your best and hurry!
STOP!
Even though you keep on searching
Something inside of you will be revealed.
Death will wait, don’t hesitate.
For many who question the answer is already over.
Running…
Racing after something/someone
Never facing something. Can you find it?
Running blind you start to panic,
Knowing all the time you’re acting manic.
Just keep on a roll ‘cause you’re in control.
The card’s up your sleeve (or so you believe) keep moving…
STOP!
Even though you keep on searching
Something inside of you will be revealed.
Death will wait, don’t hesitate,
For many who question the answer is already over.
Running scared as ever.
Don’t admit frustration with the destination.
‘Cause you don’t know where you’re going.
But look how far you’ve come.
There’s a question worth the knowing.
But never asked by some.
There’s no doubt of your arrival, who cares how hard we race.
It’s a question of survival just name the time and place.
The time has come to face the question/answer,
Something/someone,
Manic/panic, never facing/always racing,
Moving/moving, losing/gaining,
STOP explaining, STOP complaining, STOP!
